SPORTSMANSHIP SPOTLIGHT: MOREAU CATHOLIC GIRLS WATER POLO TEAM

In a recent game against Justin-Siena, circumstances left Justin-Siena short-handed—missing their starting goalie and relying on less-experienced players. Instead of running up the score, the Moreau Catholic seniors made a different choice: they encouraged teammates to stop countering, focused on ball movement, and even offered guidance to Justin Siena players on positioning and strategy.

This incredible act of sportsmanship created an opportunity for newer athletes on both sides to gain meaningful game time in a supportive environment.

As Moreau captain Riley Granzella shared: “We’ve been in that position and didn’t like being run up on. No one wins in that situation.”
